My project was ready and I was waiting at a computer shop for the print outs of my project.  I was nervous about the project and thoughts about Hari's family's reaction drove me insane. 

I collected my printouts and  started walking towards the college for submission.I received a text message from Hari's brother.

"Good morning ettathi (sister-in-law in malayalam)"

I was surprised and elated. Hari's brother texted me for the first time and he was referring to me as his sister-in-law. I dialed Hari's number with a coy smile.

"You told them Hari?"

"Yes and they all like you."

"Oh my God! I can't believe you told them and they accepted. It's happening so fast and unexpectedly. I mean my mind is still accepting the fact that you are mine and now this.My heart is beating so loudly that I think it's going to break the rib cage and dance in excitement.I just hope my parents also agree. I will have to inform my parents soon.God, you are going to get me killed today."

"They will also accept.Do not worry."

"Did you tell them about our horoscopes?", I asked.

"No. They got our horoscopes checked from an astrologer yesterday itself. Our horoscopes do not match but he warned them that if I do not get married to you then there is no other woman in this World whom I can get married to.", Hari said.

"Did you bribe him or something? I must say that you and your family are super fast. You just told them you love me and they got our horoscopes matched" I laughed.

"Talk to your parents today itself before my superfast parents tell them", Hari joked.

"Yes dear. I will call you after speaking to them. I am at college for submission of that project. Love you. Bye", I said.

"Ok. I love you too. Bye",he disconnected the call.
 
I was in the college staff room when I noticed one of our seniors speaking to all the lecturers and everyone were shaking hands with him. I was too busy speaking to my guide and ignored the coversations in the staff room.I entered the classroom and was discussing about the project with a few friends when I again saw him. A few of my classmates went and wished him all the best. One of my friends told us that he was selected for an international program that the college was organizing in a tie up with a US based pharmaceutical company.The company was highly impressed by the work he had done on peptide based signalling molecules and he had bright chances of being recruited by the company after he completed his education. I realized that my friends were highly impressed by his achievements. However, I was worried the entire day about my parent's reaction and I had butterflies in my stomach whenever I thought about breaking the news to them.

I reached home and took a vachanam from Vachanampetty. It read:

"This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you."

This seemed to be irrelevant. I wasn't doubting our love . i wanted something positive to motivate me, something which would give me courage to tell about Hari to my parents.

I was perplexed. I dialed Hari's number to find out how he broke the news us to his family. He was the only person who could really help me and motivate me.

"Hello Hari..I am nervous. How should I tell it to them? I mean how should I begin.How did  you tell your family about us?"

"I spoke to my grandmother first. I felt most comfortable with her, so I chose her over others. I told her that I love Gayu and I want to marry her.She gave me a big smile. She told me that she loves you too and you are a wonderul girl.She then spoke to my parents and soon everyone at my house knew about us. My parents asked me if I was really serious about you. I assured them that I wish to marry you."

"Oh Hari... i just wish everything happens so smoothly here too. "

"Relax dear. Let's just forget about that now. How was your day at college? Did you finally submit your project?"

"My day was good. I submited my project. One of my seniors has been selected for an international program and is going to US for training. The whole staff room was wishing him when I was there.I wish somebody sends me to Australia for training."

"Gayu...I think you need to study hard for that and do some cool research. You are not focusing on your studies. Go study something."

"Look who's telling who. You go and study first. "

"I don't care. You are the one who is going to earn and I will be your housewife. I will look after the kids and house.We can switch the roles .Women empowerement and househusband.Cool concept, isn't it?"

"So, you are going to carry the kids in your tummy for 10 months and breast feed them when they are hungry? "

"I do not think I have that much potential. But about the breastfeeding part.."

"Hold it. I know what you are going to say next. We will discuss it some other day. Do not distract me. I have to keep calm.Wish I was in tomorrow speaking to you about how I told my parents about us."

"Gayu...I love you. Everything will go well dear.Do not worry."

"I love you too my baby. Muaaah."

"Call me at night after speaking with them. Bye dear"

"Hmmm.." I disconnected the call.
